Miriam Tikotin, Soprano (Voice)
Miriam Tikotin, Soprano (Voice) Hailed for her warm tone, stage presence and exquisite musical taste, soprano Miriam Tikotin performs regularly in chamber music concerts, recitals, Early Music ensembles and several opera productions.
On top of her vocal performance degree (including theory and conducting lessons), Miriam Tikotin specialized in Early Music in France, with Roberto Gini (Italy), Ayala Sicron (Israel) and studied with some of the finest musicians throughout Europe. Miriam Tikotin is well known for choosing unique and diverse repertoire in thirteen languages.
She is also a passionate voice & music theory teacher.

Liza McLellan, Cello
Liza is a regular performer for Toronto’s Soundstreams series, and works with numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout Ontario including the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the Thunder Bay Symphony and Orchestra London. In addition, Liza has performed as a featured soloist onstage at Glenn Gould Studio, The Heleconian Club, and The Arts Project. Recent chamber work has taken her to perform in other venues in such cities as New York, Indianapolis, and Granada in the Caribbean. Liza has been recorded both by CBC radio and CBC television, Canada.

Emilie Lom, Harp
Emilie Lom, Harp Beginning her musical studies at the piano, Emilie Lom was always drawn to the harp. She began harp studies at thirteen in her hometown of Barrie Ontario with Debi MacKay. Emilie quickly progressed and continued her studies with Sarah Davidson in Toronto. She now studies with Judy Loman at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Over the course of her studies, Emilie has been recognized by the Toronto Chapter of the American Harp Society in their scholarship auditions, as well as many other musical festivals such as Kiwanis, and has appeared on TVO as part of a children’s program in 2005. She is also the recipient of the Silver Medal Award, granted by the Royal Conservatory of Music. Emilie Lom has performed with the Huronia Symphony Orchestra, Royal Conservatory Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada as well as the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. She was twice featured as a concerto soloist in 2009.
In addition, Emilie is an active musician in Toronto providing music for diverse occasions such as weddings, banquets, galas etc. She is glad to share her music in every way, and considers herself extremely fortunate to be able to pursue her passion for music and the harp.

Emily Hau, Violin
Emily Hau, Violin Violinist, Emily Hau, received her Bachelor and Master of Music from the University of Houston. She studied under the guidance of the distinguished artist, Fredell Lack, and the concertmaster of Dallas Symphony, Emanuel Borok. Emily has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships from the University of Houston, the University of Toronto, the Starling Endowment, and the Canadian Aldeburgh Foundation. She has performed in selective master classes that include Ruggiero Ricci, James Buswell, Kyung Sun Lee, Charles Castleman and Rachel Podger. A vibrant young violinist, Emily spent several summers abroad at music festivals that include Banff, Britten-Pears, Schlern and Pacific Music Festival. Her musical experiences over the years, have allowed her to study, as well as perform, under some of the most renowned teachers and conductors of our time. Emily has previously studied with Zhang Yun Zhang, Lorand Fenyves and Paul Kantor. She has played under conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Andrey Boreyko and Robin Ticciati.
In addition to her position as Principal Second of Sinfonia Toronto, Emily is an active violinist in the Toronto freelance scene. Recent musical engagements have allowed her to travel throughout Canada, the United States, Japan, Italy, Jamaica, England and Germany.

Moira Burke, Viola
Moira Burke, Viola Moira Burke began her musical studies before age two at the Kodály Music School in Ottawa. Drawn to the violin after hearing Ida Haendel, Mrs. Burke began playing the violin at age five as a student of Florence Dunne; at 10 continued music studies in Florence, Italy, with Maestro Cornoldi; returning to Canada (aged 13) she was awarded the Flora Golden Memorial Scholarship under the tutelage of Canadian violinist, Victor Pomer of the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Mrs. Burke continued violin studies with renowned Romanian violinist, Ioan Harea, and later renewed her connection with Ida Haendel, participating in her Master Classes.
Mrs. Burke was drawn to the beautiful tone of the viola and decided to concentrate on the viola under the tutelage of André Roy. Soon thereafter she joined the 2002 National Youth Orchestra performing as violist across Canada, Japan and in Hong Kong. Mrs. Burke performed as principal violist of the McGill Symphony & Opera Orchestras, and was assistant principal violist of the Leonardo Da Vinci Orchestra in Montreal. She holds a BA in Music and Masters in Viola Orchestral Performance from McGill University.
Today Mrs. Burke is principal violist with the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra, performs with the Peterborough Symphony, the Oshawa-Durham Symphony, the Korean Canadian Symphony and the National Academy Orchestra. Besides her busy orchestral career, Mrs. Burke is also a private violin and viola teacher and an active chamber musician. She is violist with the SASS Chamber Ensemble, and was principal violist with the Canadian String Orchestra at Opera Grenada’s “A Night at the Opera.”

Casey Granofsky, Flute
Casey Granofsky, Viola Casey Granofsky grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, where she took up the flute at the age of nine, studying with Loyda Lastra. She was a member and soloist of the award-winning concert band from Canterbury High School in Ottawa. In 2006, she was one of the winners of the Ottawa Youth Orchestra concerto competition, and performed Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 1 in G Major with the orchestra. That same year she was also engaged by the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra. Currently, she is studying with Dr. Kathleen Rudolph (principal flute of the National Broadcast Orchestra).
Ms. Granofsky, is one of the recent additions to the Stratford Symphony Orchestra after winning the position of third flute and piccolo. She is an active member of the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO), playing both flute and piccolo under world-reknown conductors including Leon Fleisher, Peter Oundjian and Mario Bernardi (among others).
On November 2009 Ms. Granofsky and her good friend the harpist Emilie Lom made their concert debut at the Art Gallery of Ontario, in Toronto. Ms. Granofsky and Ms. Lom will also make their YouTube debut as a featured ensemble on the Royal Conservatory’s channel, scheduled to be released later this year.
When not playing the flute, Ms. Granofsky enjoys watching cartoons, in particular, Bugs Bunny - such great music! (December 2009)
